Lea is a Human Resources Management and Organizational Development Professional. Her HR background covers different businesses and industries ranging from the manufacturing, academe to the service industry.
Lea is one of the Managing Directors of Visions & Breakthroughs International (VBI), Inc. As a Managing Director, she is a key player in the curriculum development, module design and implementation of education and training programs, in the organizational development interventions and in any HR systems and policies as required by organizations that she works with. Concurrently, she is the Sub-Committee Chair on Professional and Curriculum Development of Competencies and Skills in the Tourism Sector, under the Tourism Industry Board Foundation Inc. (TIBFI), which is a Phil.-Australian Quality Technical Vocational Education Training (PAQTVET) project and TESDA.
She designs and conducts training and development programs on Leadership, Strategic Management, Personality Development and Corporate Imaging, Customer Service, Teambuilding, Coaching and other Management Development Programs, to name a few. She has done consulting work in all areas of Human Resources Management and Development, with particular focus on organizational development and design of strategic HR systems and structures, using the competency-based management system as a model applied both in curriculum development and in HR policies. Lea also does corporate coaching in various industries and organizations, such as Amkor Technology, Texas Instruments, NEDA, Manel's, to name a few.
She used to be the Director for People Innovation and Education for Pan Pacific Manila. A member of the Executive Committee and a strategic human resource leader, she is responsible for policy formulation and a prime mover for the conceptualization and implementation of innovative systems, policies and procedures in all areas of HRD. She designs and implements training and education programs for all line staff and members of the management team of the hotel. She is also an advocate for the welfare of street children, having done educational initiatives for them in cooperation with UNICEF.
Prior to the hotel, she was also a consultant, coach and facilitator for another consulting firm specializing in behavioral and cultural transformation workshops. She also has an extensive experience in HR work in the academe, having been employed as Group HR Head at the Asian Institute of Management and was also exposed to a labor intensive manufacturing firm as HR Manager.
She is a graduate of BS Psychology, a candidate for the Master of Arts in Psychology Major in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, units in Master of Arts in Education, all from the Ateneo de Manila University. She also took a short business course at the Asian Institute of Management, giving her a macro overview of business operations in general.
